What happens at the shelter
A night's stay at the shelter is entirely free.
You will need to arrive at the shelter venue between 9.30 pm and 10.30 pm where you will be met by a team of friendly volunteers who will offer you a hot drink, and a snack and allocate you a bed and bedding if required.
If you are later than 10.30 pm and have not given us prior warning, we will have to allocate your bed to someone on the reserve list. Please call 01865 243229 if your are going to be late.
Breakfast the following morning is served at 7:00am.
We aim to provide a relaxed and safe environment and enable you to have a good night's sleep. Because of this there are a number of rules, so the first time you access one of the venues you will be asked to complete a guest agreement. This agreement sets out these rules and asks you to sign to say you have understood and agree to abide by them.
The rules are as follows:
No alcohol, controlled drugs or psychoactive substances may be taken into a shelter. You must not be heavily under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
No bad or threatening language or engagement in provocative or violent behaviour.
You must at all times respect the other guests and the volunteers.
No weapons are to be brought into the shelter.
Smoking is only allowed in designated areas, including e-cigarettes and vaping.
We are not able to accommodate pets.
